Cooperativa 1050

After working shoulder to shoulder for 10 years, in 2019 Colectivo 1050 became a cooperative formed by clay artisans from seven communities in Oaxaca, Puebla and Chiapas. They create simple and elegant designs in collaboration, bridging the rural and indigenous world closer to the modernism of urban life and the wisdom of traditions closer to the dynamism of innovations.

Monica Calderón is designer and founder of Monica Calderon Studio. Her studio is dedicated to the conception, design and production of decorative and functional accessories and furniture. For over 20 years, Monica Calderón Studio has been dedicated to the curation, ideation, design and production of home accessories, tabletop, furniture, art objects and decor. Monica and her design team draw inspiration from the forms, textures and colors found in the natural world.

Angela Damman

What began as an idea to work with the native henequen and sansevieria plants has grown to became Angela’s passion—building a luxury brand that supports the knowledge of Yucatan’s plant fiber artisans and their families.. Now, through textile innovation and bespoke design, Angela Dammam is supporting these artisans breathe new life into their ancient traditions and bring renewed vitality to their communities.

CALA por Jorge Pardo

Pardo’s work explores the intersection of contemporary painting, design, sculpture, and architecture. Employing a broad palette of vibrant colors, eclectic patterns, and natural and industrial materials, He often transforms familiar objects into artworks with multiple meanings and purposes, such Pardo’s limited-edition collaboration with Cala Editions to create a series of colorful plant pots. The artist – who is now based in Merida, – made the unusually shaped pieces from molds to give them a slouchy form.

 
 

Ezequiel Farca Studio

Ezequiel Farca is co-founder and architect of Casa Escuela. His design studios are based in Los Angeles, Mexico and Milan focusing on creating holistic spaces through an intricate approach to each part of a whole. His practice specializes in interior design and architecture as well as product design. This unique ceramic dinnerware was exclusively designed for Casa Escuela’s daily use and is available for purchase.
